A PDOS is a seminar - required by law - designed to fully prepare a departing OFW for his new job abroad. PDOS participants are comprised of Filipinos with work contracts about to leave for overseas. The Aware PDOS has been in operation for 8 years and has an average of 150 participants per day. The primary destinations for the PDOS participants are the Middle East, Japan, and North America. 2. Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) Events. CFO is the government agency tasked with serving as a forum for preserving and enhancing the social, economic, and cultural ties of Filipinos overseas back home while also providing liaison services to Filipinos overseas with appropriate government and private agencies in the transaction of business and similar ventures in the Philippines. CFO conducts regular events (Forum for Filipino Leaders in the U.S., Barrio Fiesta in the U.K, medical missions, etc.) both here and abroad. CFO also runs a daily seminar in its Manila office for immigrants (mostly to US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan). The number of seminar participants ranges from 100 to 150 per day.
